Christian Eriksen says that he wishes his future could be decided»like in Soccer Manager» after failing to secure a move away from Tottenham.
The Denmark international, who scored Spurs’ opener in their 2-2 derby draw with Arsenal on Sunday, admitted during the summer he was considering leaving the club this summer in order to»try something new».
Eriksen, that was connected with a transfer to Real Madrid, will be at the last year of his contract and is liberated to signal a pre-contract arrangement in January 1 with European clubs.
«I really wish I could decide just enjoy in Football Manager, but unfortunately I can not,» Eriksen told Danish book Ekstra Bladet.
When asked whether the comments he made concerning his long life were a error, Eriksen stated:»It was not. However, it is football and you don’t know what happens in football. Many things always become involved.
«For me it isn’t tough to clean my head. I don’t read much of what is written.
«And today I have been involved for several years, in which there have been a lot of rumours every year. However, it’s clear that it’s been fierce this season since my contract is going to expire.
«I understand a great deal of people are thinking about where I really wish to playwith. That is how it is. This is the way it is in a club in case you’ve done well. There’ll always be rumours.»
