Nine NFL squads conducted mandatory minicamp last week. This Tuesday, 23 teams start their regular compulsory work.
Players under contract could be fined for skipping minicamp. Players who have been franchise labeled but not authorized the tender are not under contract and therefore can’t be fined — i.e. Houston Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney.
Minicamps for its 23 squads run from Tuesday through Thursday, after gamers failed physicals on Monday. Phase three of offseason workout rules apply (no live contact is permitted, but teams can operate 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills). According to the collective bargaining agreement, two-a-day clinics are allowed two of the three days during mandatory minicamp, together with restrictions: players might be on the area for a total of no more than three-and-a-half hours daily; no practice can last more than two-and-a-half hours of on-field activities; the second clinic shall be limited to walk-through instruction only; coordinated activities can’t start before 7 a.m. or end after 8:30 p.m. local time; and players may only be requested to take part in club activities for a maximum of 10 hours every day.

The lack of touch means what we are watching this week is a casing of genuine football, but certain facets can give glimpses or clues about how a team might operate, how coaches feel about particular players, and other clues to take a closer look at come training camp in July.

What’s their development progressing through the offseason program? Can one step out to steal snaps? Can they still be slotted behind Chad Williams heading into training camp? And how is free-agent flyer Kevin White working on his redemption tour?
Atlanta Falcons
Revamped O-line: It is almost impossible to get a fantastic estimate on the line during minicamps given the lack of contact permitted. And the biggest changes to the Falcons’ roster came with the improvements of 2 first-round selections on the ideal side of the line. Even with restricted contact, how can the duo advancement during team exercises as we head into training camp? Together with Julio Jones (and other people ) reporting but restricted by a foot injury, the alterations to this O-line are the biggest question facing the Falcons’ offense this offseason.
Baltimore Ravens

The Panthers quarterback underwent offseason surgery and will take part in team drills for the first time. While Carolina is not likely to drive Cam early in the process, seeing how his arm is calibrated heading to the summer could give us an indication into how he’ll appear come September. When we last saw Newton toss a ball during live activity he was slinging lawn-darts and heavy worm-burners. How his motion looks and the velocity on the ball this week will be closely monitored.
Chicago Bears
Kicker battles live on: Surewe can cite Mitchell Trubisky diving deeper into Matt Nagy’s crime as something to keep an eye on, but if there’s a heated kicker struggle going on in Chicago, it’s the celebrity. Considering the Bears’ season ended, the wake of Cody Parkey, the eight-man competition at rookie minicamp, the list being whittled down to three, and yet none commanding the task makes this among the few competitions during June minicamps that could have a lasting effect in a playoff roster. To begin with, one of the booters must finally convince the group brass he’s the man for the job. The simple fact that none has yet is disconcerting for Bears fans.
Cincinnati Bengals
Where does John Ross fit in the new crime? The prior first-round pick enters a vital year for his livelihood and each day of training will assist the speedster find success. Firsthe must stay healthy, but beyond harms, Ross must prove he could be more than a field-stretcher at Zac Taylor’s crime. Up to now, reports from Cincy are encouraging. We will need to hear more flowery language, however, before buying this Ross will be a legit threat supporting A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. If Ross isn’t excelling when defenses are in shorts, he will surely struggle once the pads are on.
Dallas Cowboys
What exactly does Kellen Moore’s crime look like? This will be a question all offseason and into the cold months as the world attempts to work out how first time play-caller will use Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott. Moore’s former teammate, Dan Orlovsky, has repeatedly suggested he thinks the offense will be one»that is like Sean Payton married with Matt Nagy wed with Mike Leach. Like they had a baby and that is exactly what this offense is going to be.» If even close to authentic, that could be one fun offense. It remains to be noted that the exact wrinkles Moore will use, like more movement, greater deception, etc.. As team drills creep up this week, perhaps we will find a better hint.
