As they followed their Champions League humiliation in the hands of Bayern Munich with a defeat at 24, the unhappy week of tottenham continued.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was expecting a reply from his players a opener.
A nut injury was suffered by the Spurs captain in the process, along with Tottenhams issues were compounded by Aaron Connolly by doubling the guide of Brighton on his first Premier League start.
And although Spurs produced a positive start to the second half, Connolly killed off any hope since the striker made a well-taken attack for his second goal to secure Brightons very first home win since March of them launching a fightback.
Tottenham have failed to win in their past away 10 games from the Premier League, stretching back into a 2-1 success at Fulham on 20 January.
Last weeks home win against Southampton provided some relief to Spurs however, that the pressure is mounting Pochettino together along with his negative with taken 11 points this term.
After being at fault for the goal of Southampton Saturday, another glaring mistake was committed by Lloris in the third moment as he tried to grab a Pascal Gross cross rather than hammering it and his momentum observed him stagger back into his own objective.
Even the France captain dropped the ball before he crossed the goalline but injured his arm as he needed to be substituted by Paulo Gazzaniga and attempted to break his fall.
And although a close-range attempt was blocked by the substitute keeper the youngster slammed in the rally.
Connolly was released by lewis Dunk and he cut inside before firing inside the far post to secure the second win of the season of Brighton.
It was also Graham Potters first win in the Amex, raising the Seagulls into 12th until the afternoon kick-offs, with Tottenham place to slip from the six.
