New Orleans Pelicans: 100-1

Even the New Orleans Pelicans ended 14 games beneath .500 this past year, but the 2014-15 campaign must see them vault over the break-even mark.
That is a substantial improvement, even though it’s as much a statement about the franchise’s rotten luck per year ago as anything else. Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday missed portions of the year with knee and back injuries, respectively. Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon lost time Too.
Better luck on the injury front, alongside the inclusion of Omer Asik in the center, should propel the Pelicans forwards as they grow into a group worthy of Davis’ presence. This season marks a critical developmental milestone for the organization and The Brow.

Whether they’ve enough to really get there’s a different discussion, and it is difficult to point to one team out of last year’s playoff harvest that’s very likely to drop out. But if Davis is as good as he is likely to be and everyone else remains relatively healthy, they have got a opportunity.
The Pelicans are building a skyscraper, and it would probably be wise to get in on the ground floor.
