2019: Astros, Carlos Correa
What started out as rib cage soreness keeping Correa from this lineup for a few days in the end of May proven to be a fractured rib to the Astros star shortstop. The cause? A massage gone wrong.
«I continued that the rib fracture in a massage in my house on Tuesday,» Correa said in his statement on the injury. «To sustain an accident in such an unusual way makes it even more frustrating. But, I’ll work hard to get back to the field as rapidly as possible to help our team reach our goal of winning another championship.»
2019: Mets, Yoenis C??spedes The Mets’ star outfielder needed his comeback from twin operations to remove calcification from the insides derailed by a freak injury suffered on his ranch at Port St. Lucie, Fla.. Cespedes fractured his right arm when he endured a»violent fall» and twisted his ankle in a pit, Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen reported into a shocked New York press corps in a Citi Field press conference. Van Wagenen noted that Cespedes, a noted horseback rider who once rode into Mets Spring Training with teammate Noah Syndergaard, wasn’t on a horse when the accident occurred.
2019: Blake Snell, Rays Snell was coming off his first American League Cy Young Award and appeared well on his way toward contending for the following one (2.16 ERA, 36 strikeouts throughout his first four starts of’19) until he fractured his right fourth toe whilst trying to move a granite stand in his bathroom. The Rays left-hander did not see that the stand had three parts along with the rod fell on his toe as he had been moving the massive part of the stand. Though Snell was scheduled to overlook only one start due to the injury, this decorative piece of furniture apparently caused more harm to the ace than any opposing lineup within the previous calendar year.
