Week 3 of the 2019 NFL preseason favored Tennessee Titans at Nashville and comes to a conclusion on Sunday night.

We are used to watching NFL activity on Sundays, right? Well, only one Sunday game of the preseason in Week 3 and it will be the last day of Sunday NFL until Week 1 of the regular season. That is because all groups play Thursday at Week 4 of the exhibition schedule. The Pittsburgh Steelers head to the Tennessee Titans to shut 3.
Both missed the playoffs and finished regular season. The Titans would have promised a Wild-Card spot if they’d won Week 17 at home vs. Indianapolis, but the Colts were clearly superior and rolled to a 33-17 victory. Starting Titans QB Marcus Mariota missed the game hurt and Blaine Gabbert was awful in his position.
Pittsburgh had a Baltimore home loss to Cleveland and a Week 17 win over Cincinnati to take the AFC North. Pittsburgh did its project with a victory — without star receiver Antonio Brown in his final act of defiance using this franchise. The Ravens and a 26-24 win over the Browns didn’t cooperate.
Despite not enjoying beginning QB Ben Roethlisberger yet steelers coach Mike Tomlin is 2-0 this season and a solid 30-22 within his preseason profession. The Steelers played their first two in your home, edging Tampa Bay 30-28 at Week 1 and then beating Kansas City. Going by the history of Tomlin, Big Ben and a little ought to play with . Joshua Dobbs and Mason Rudolph are competing together with covering the Steelers believing Rudolph is leading.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel is 1-1 this year — Tennessee has yet to win a home exhibition game. The Titans were first Week 1 winners at Philadelphia 27-10 and subsequently lost 22-17 in the home to New England but directed all the game. It was won by A TD pass to the Pats. The Titans offense along with mariota and four series have only played so far for Vrabel but would the entire first half of the one.
Top has to play in the preseason because of a calf injury but did return this week to practice. Not clear if this means he would go in this . No. 1 tight end Delanie Walker broke his arm in Week 1 final year and hadn’t played until last week at the Patriots. He even caught a TD pass. The Titans’ offense isn’t the same with Walker, the best tight end in franchise history. Meanwhile, the Mariota’s backup Ryan Tannehill continues to be excellent this preseason having a 130.8 passer rating, completing 19 of 27 for 214 yards. Some believe he can steal the job at any point this season from Mariota.
These groups played in Week 3 however in Pittsburgh, too at the 2018 preseason. The Steelers won 16-6. Big Ben, making his preseason debut of’18, was 11-for-18 for 114 yards and a touchdown in a few series. Mariota didn’t play with a lot and has been. He missed wide-open Corey Davis for what would have been a touchdown on the starting drive of Tennessee.
As I’m sure they’d love to finish that house preseason losing streak, we’ll take the Titans here.
