This week, we have a Fight Pass card at Singapore. Since it’s in Singapore, we must wake up at 4:30am ET to see it live. I’ve already set the alarm and I will be up prepared to sweat these early struggles. DraftKings does not have many large tournaments this week so that I will be playing more money games and less GPPs. I’ll still have 3 GPP lineups but a lot of my investment that this week will be in cash games. But, there is still money to be won so here are a Couple of plays I like and my fade of the week:
Money Game play of the week — Stack, Leon Edwards ($8,600) AND Donald Cerrone ($7,600)
Donald»Cowboy» Cerrone is never in a boring fight. Whether he wins or loses, his struggles generally score high as a whole and also the winner nearly always pays off their price tag in DraftKings. I typically search for 100 total points if I stack a struggle in money and that I think for this being a possible 5-rounds, it must assess well more than that. Should Edwards win this battle, it’s probably an early KO, and if this happens he’ll score very high. If Cerrone wins, then he can lock up a submission or a knockout and that will readily 10x his cost of $7.6k. But either way, you have the winner at your lineup along with the guaranteed 30-90 win bonus points should you pile. I think this fight will be fun as long as it lasts and there ought to be a good number of points added up until one of these two get finished. If this does go 5 rounds, then these two should still get over 100 total points together with the pace Cowboy brings to the table.
GPP drama of this week — Li Jingliang ($9,200)
Li Jingliang constantly puts on a show when he steps in the Octagon. He’s a fast pace fighter that scores well on DraftKings if he wins. I think he must be the better fighter wherever this fight ends up against Abe. I also think he could finish this battle on the feet or the floor and if this happens he would very likely pay off his high cost of $9.2k. He’s the 3rd most expensive fighter on the card and that I think he’s the maximum ceiling. That is what we want in GPPs is a ceiling, so that is the reason why Jingliang is my GPP play of this week.
Underdog drama of the week — Song Yadong ($7,900)
Song Yadong is my favorite DraftKings»underdog» this week. His betting line has changed to him being a slight favorite at -120 however he is $400 cheaper than his competitor. I believe saving that $400 is a good move in money or GPP games so I enjoy Yadong in most formats. I think Yadong will look to maintain this fight on the toes and search for this KO win. If he does get the win, I believe he should readily pay off that price tag and get at least 10x.
Fade of the week — Viviane Pereira ($8,800)
My primary issue with Pereira is that she is too pricey. At $8.8k, I need at least 88 points from her and I believe she desires get a finish to do that. I don’t see that happening and neither does Vegas with a +617 ITD line. She doesn’t strike at a high enough pace or territory sufficient takedowns to evaluate 88 points in my personal opinion. In her two UFC wins she held her competitor against the fence for a fantastic section of the fight and no points are being scored when that happens. If she does that again here, there’s absolutely no way she even comes near 88 points even with a win. I will have a complete fade on Pereira this week and I will pay up for other favorites instead.
