New Orleans Pelicans: 100-1

Even the New Orleans Pelicans ended 14 games beneath .500 last year, but the 2014-15 effort should see them vault above the break-even mark.
That’s a significant improvement, though it’s as much a statement about the franchise’s rotten luck a year ago as anything else. Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday missed enormous parts of the season with back and knee injuries. Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon lost time Too.
Better fortune on the injury front, along with the massive addition of Omer Asik at the center, should propel the Pelicans as they develop into a group worthy of Davis’ existence. This year marks a developmental landmark for The Brow and the organization.
Themselves should now move into the postseason conversation though not a championship-caliber squad:

Whether they have enough to actually get there is a different conversation, and it’s difficult to point to a single team from last year’s playoff harvest that is likely to drop out. But if Davis is as good as he’s going to be and everyone else remains relatively healthy, they’ve got a opportunity.
The Pelicans are building a skyscraper, and it will probably be sensible to get in on the ground floor.
