Wide receiver Antonio Brown has been released by the Oakland Raiders two days ahead of the NFL season opener of the team.
Brown was fined following a confrontation with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock however had been expected to face the Denver Broncos on Monday.
The news came just hours after Brown published a message Instagram that finished:»Publish me @raiders.»
Brown became one of the NFL’s highest-paid broad receivers when he combined Oakland in March from Pittsburgh.
He arrived from the Steelers on a three-year price worth more than $50m (#41m) per season.
Brown has allegedly not received any money from the Raiders up to now.
The group affirmed the departure of Brown in a one-line statement.
Brown isn’t subject to waivers and will currently register for any group as a free agent.
«We’re focused on the long run and that I will work on signing up to a new group,» Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told NFL.com.
«Antonio is looking forward to a new beginning.»
Brown’s launch comes at dramatic period for the player’s conclusion.
He has missed time because of frostbite-like accidents to his feet brought on by entering a chamber that was cryotherapy without wearing proper footwear.
He sat out a further period of the off-season in a dispute with the NFL on his helmet.
The altercation between Brown and Mayock ended having to be separated, according to reports, and contributed producing an apology at a team meeting on Friday morning.
