James Tate is currently a Fracture at the Qatar Prix P l’Abbaye in Longchamp month for Invincible Army.
The four-year-old remained on strongly to take third place at the minimum excursion behind Fairyland on just his second try, in the Group One dashboard.
Invincible Army has made his mark, since finishing Stakes at Glorious Goodwood as a juvenile.
But, Tate was buoyed by his effort on Sunday and now has got the Abbaye in his sights.
«He’s as clean as paint and trotted sound – therefore we’ve got lots of choices – but probably it’ll be the Abbaye, I would have thought,» said Tate.
«He raced well. He was third in a Group One at five, so on his first attempt for two or three years, thus we could give it another attempt»
Under The Stars may also head to Longchamp for its Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac, later departing Tate»frustrated» when denied a smooth passing in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.
Her chance had gone at that time the girl of Night Of Thunder obtained a clear run – beaten only two lengths by the winner, Love.
«She was frustrating because she got stuck in a pocket behind the winner and the second, so she never got out until the last furlong,» said her trainer.
«She conducted a solid-enough race, finishing fifth, but I thought maybe she would have picked up a little black kind had she obtained a clean run.
«She had been drawn five of nine, and the pace wasn’t overly quickly, and she never got a clean run at it»
Tate keeps hope that there is more to come.
He added:»She was not beaten way, (and) I had been satisfied with her run, but I’d like to think we might be a little better than that.
«I might see the very likely race to her being the Prix Marcel Boussac.
«There is the Rockfel, weekend following at Newmarket, but if the weather stays dry that may be on the quick side for her so we could visit Longchamp instead.»
