BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be far more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I’d wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They’ve made choices a few years ago that’s likely cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, because of lost business from poor PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of those with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and feel that now they are a trusted and legit gambling company — we think you have a right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What exactly did BetOnline do to make a lot of people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions crosses the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling likes to withholding cash to getting poor security.
There are loads of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can see for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what system it was on. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked away.
Later reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and fixed, and that BetOnline had been (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad way to market a new product. It doesn’t instill confidence. Plus it makes you wonder: why would they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from clients. The reasoning was nearly always because the customer supposedly cheated, even though no proof was ever provided from BetOnline (in the examples we’ve read).
1 example that caught our attention was of an expert who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories that revealed him cheating (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too large.
(Anybody who understands anything regarding online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files into your own computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send proof someone cheated if you do not have anything to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his money back. His last update mentions being alleviated about how it worked out for himbut also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the player didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped into his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else could be hurt. He did it his buddy might have an extra $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The funny part is they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most websites would have captured it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS though, is the way they wanted to also take his $37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members indicated that many legit sites would not have allowed two individuals from the exact same IP to sit in the same table. And, if they did, the moment they suspected chip dumping had occurred, the participant’s accounts would come under review. He’d not have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this participant’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline believes they should have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The previous example we want to share is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed how the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login amounts. It is possible to see the live chat log here.
The original poster has a good point. If everyone in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a fantastic answer, just a»ha ha fine grained.»
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is the way these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for»BetOnline scams» will keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were trying hard to cover their clients.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment team is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated at a more expedited manner.
«The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,» the rep stated. «But since there is a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through different fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is complete, customers will experience drastically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment choices, such as same day choices.»
Nobody knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly»shocked» to find over $1.5 million in obligations that was not reported by the previous direction. So I think it’d be safe to presume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid off it.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are some complaints; normal stuff all businesses face that we’ll address in the future in our inspection when it makes sense. But it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They have satisfied customers, if you can believe it.
Now, what does that mean for you? Should you forgive and forget? Are they secure enough for one to join, make a deposit and play? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would have played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had known or heard about any of the reports above. No one in their right mind could. You’d be safer lighting your cash on fire.
And we don’t want to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be dismissed.
But since buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so that we’re comfortable now recommending them to our readers.
And it’s not just us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, then you will see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, simply to get a change of heart when they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review under.
However, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they currently offer players. So we feel safe having accounts .
It is your responsibility to decide if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their past from the way, let us jump into what’s important now — and that is what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, gambling options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good choice of banking options. But you will want to keep in mind that what’s available for you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let us begin with their deposit options.

The largest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for credit and debit cards. They are one of the only sites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among the other kinds, charging 4.9 percent.

What I don’t like is the way you’ll pay a fee for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to cover a 2% fee.
That said, I’ve seen firsthand reports from customers who say they’ve received payments over 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they’re from the US market.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I’ve seen reports which indicate BetOnline provides you a $50 charge every month if you place in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this won’t cover the entire fee, but it is better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an»all in one» business. This means you can bet on sports, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most popular sports in america. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Soccer Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Soccer Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Pro Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football 1 option they’ve added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how quickly that industry is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, also, though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ games around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think that it’s a good idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this developing market. Perhaps they have plans to enlarge their eSports choices in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their odds on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing for the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be true, nor can it matter if they never expand this section of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on these.
They provide live gambling too. These options change continuously, of course, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You might even keep tabs on a couple games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and program for future games with their live betting calendar.
1 thing they are known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. It is also possible to increase your wagering amounts by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable variety of promotions, and far more than you’ll find in their racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you will see a list of races in their main webpage. Each listing tells you how many spacious races there are, which should you click on it is going to expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their site or horse betting, a fantastic section to look through is their racebook info tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff odds. Find out how much you’ll make if your wager (s) win.Their principles and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a fantastic section if you’re new to horse gambling.
And that is about it. This section is far smaller than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the caliber or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your stakes daily without a min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the first time from the racebook. If you shed BetOnline will refund you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include signature, range, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets it is possible to bet on will depend on your wager kind.
This section looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is among the most popular options for Americans. They are part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in overall traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they’d around 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. In the past they had many complaints regarding the standard of their applications. This included complaints regarding blurry graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But after their update we have seen hints that they may have some of the greatest applications in the US marketplace.
From worst to best in 1 update? That might be pushing it. But based on the pictures I have seen, their software DOES look much better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have some choices for cellular players, which we believe is a no-brainer in this era. They also only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be nice to see more game choices.
Overall, however, it’s nice to see they’re making advancements and are getting more competitive with what other top tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of which, some of their poker offers or promotions include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They pay this out to you 5 at a time. You’ll have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
Plus it is not just a»bonus,» but the matches here should be softer due to the US traffic along with also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find lots of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft software, both of which are known for producing games that are topnotch. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
One thing to point out here are the reports I have seen about the way BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
1 example came out of a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I anticipated them to shine at customer services. How else can you explain the popularity of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat support (and I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life up to now.
Following the live chat session began, I had to wait a few minutes until the customer service person bothered to reply, not just completely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username into a live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I clarified that I do not wish to input that information into a chat room and, more importantly, the query requires no such advice since it had been about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait for ten more minutes for»assistance» (I use that word loosely ), while getting»Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a minute…» every now and then.
That said, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline states they offer excellent customer service. In addition, he says that your best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they manage customer care…an
